Scoring was better this week in the May Stableford with Gary Crowder winning with a great score of 40 pts followed by the inform Owen Raynor with 38 pts and Jeff Clayton coming 3rd with 37 pts beating Paul Smith & John Mccann on a card playoff.

Div 2 was closer with 3 players tied on 38 pts John Clegg came out on top with Ron Beacall 2nd and Rob Passingham 3rd. There were 19 twos worth £7.85 and congratulations to Scott Bligdon who got a hole in one on the 4th who also gets a double share.

A reminder that the closing date for the 1st round of the Captains Prize is 14 May and the Club Foursomes is 21 May.

The entry list for the Plate is available for any entrant to the Captains Prize who has lost in the 1st round. The Closing Date for entries will be Saturday 22nd May 2014

I had a quick drive round the course and pace of play was much better than the previous week with only a few small gaps. We had a lot of cancelations this week. Please could you let us know ASAP rather than on the day as this helps us find reserves if there are any.

The Greens will get there main feed this week to get the meadow grass growing as at present the bent grass is growing and the meadow isn't which is causing the inconsistent growth. For those of you who read the Golfers Local there is a very good article from the Green keeper at Hazel Grove on Greens conditions at this time of year. If possible i will try and put it in the newsletter next week.
