Ladies Yellow Ball stableford
After there recent trip to Dubai playing in slightly warmer conditions than here!. The two Jan's, Evans and Randles along with Sharon Evans were on good form acclimatising well to win the Ladies Yellow Ball Stableford on Tuesday with 62 points.
I think if Jan Evans wins again next week she may be asked to play off the Yellow's the following week to give everyone else a chance. In 2nd place were Caroline Berry, Amanda Dixon & Margaret Nelson with 58 points.
The Captains prize sheet is now available in the shop for anyone who would like to enter so please pop in to put your name down.

New arrivals in the shop this week include adidas Shirts and tops see which can be seen in the attached photo along with the New FooJoy Pro SL model, as worn by most of the FootJoy players on both tours.
Others arrivals are Odyssey putters including there new O Works range as well as the RX range and White Hot range.
Re-Grip Offer
This time of year is an ideal time to assess your grips and see if they need replaced. We are going to run another promotion for the next 4 weeks which I think will be a huge hit!
Take a look at your grips, you may feel they are ok but if you compare them to a new grip you will be surprised at the difference.
Even though they may not look worn, grips get harder and a bit shiny over time, the consequence is that you start gripping the club harder which leads to poor shots and higher scores.
Tour Round upIt was good to see
Jordan Speith back to top form winning at Pebble Beach last weekend after 3 excellent rounds he was able to play safe in his last round just making sure he hit fairways and greens.
On the European Tour
Fabrizio Zanotti produced a great final round of 63 to come out of the pack beating David Lipsky by a shot after Danny Willet's disappointing last round.
Paul Waring is off to South Africa at the weekend for two events in Joburg next week and the Tshwane Open the following week.
Rod's piece for the weekWe are fast approaching the end of our winter programme. We shall finish off all major work on the course by the end of the month and March will be dedicated to ensuring that the course is in as good a condition as possible for the first competition of the new season. As always this will be subject to the vagaries of the weather.
Jason and his team are committed to this goal and now is a good time for you to let me know of any areas of the course where you think we need to pay attention to improve it. I am not talking about major work - one or two people have suggested that we need to install edging to the paths - this is a major piece of work and whilst it may be desirable, we need to address it during an autumn/winter period.
We are aware of the many areas where there is damage from the winter traffic and these will be sorted as soon as possible - we cannot do much about them until soil temperatures allow grass growth. I'm afraid that is out of our hands!
So, I guess what I'm looking for from you, is bits and pieces that will improve the appearance of the course.
You will notice a few areas have been damaged by the tractor in the past week during the continued verti-draining. I am happy to live with this damage - the plus side is that continued aeration of the turf will reap longer term benefits and the damaged areas will be repaired. If you cast your mind back to last February, we had a lot more damage on the course following the major piece of work on the tenth hole. Most of this has now recovered.
There are a few problem zones on the course where we have a "pinch point". The path across the sixth tee and the walkway through from the twelfth to the thirteenth are very good examples of this problem. We are investigating solutions to these muddy messes and I am hopeful that in the case of the sixth, we shall have a solution before spring arrives.
The hedges will be cut next week, including some major cutting to the hedge adjacent to the "waste triangle" to the right of the seventh fairway.
We are clearing some of the scrub along the path from the eighth green to the ninth tee, re-shaping some bunkers, star slit greens and continuing with verti-draining.
And finally - does anyone know what this is?
Forgive the sarcasm, but I have tried everything else! So who isn't repairing their pitch marks?
I often play in the afternoon and I repair dozens of pitch marks, day in day out. If they are not repaired immediately they leave dead patches. Please repair them.
Looking forward to spring!
