The Invitation on Sunday was won by former Liverpool Players George Scott & Gordon Wallace with a great score of 43 points closely followed by bitter Blue Brian Daly and his partner Keith Formston with 42 points and in 3rd place was Mike Mcloughlin & Simon Coombs with 40 pts.
The Ladies competition on Tuesday was won by Dawn Skelland Silver Division with a net 75 Jan Evans Bronze A with a net 79 and Bronze B Dorothy Coppell with a net 80.
The course is looking great with us getting a lot of positive comments from visitors in the Seniors Open on Monday and other visitors and members. This week the rough on the 8th & 12th has been cut with our machine that thins it out but unfortunately this doesn't happen overnight. Having played a few other courses in the last few weeks our rough is no longer or thicker than other courses. The greens are currently running at 9 on the stimp meter which is the quickest they have been for sometime.
We have some spots available in the team Open on Sunday for anyone who wants to play. The cost is £5 for members and £19 for visitors if you would like a members teams or like to invite some guests. It could be a good way to get rid of a sore head after the England game on Saturday night.
This weekend was supposed to be the best putter in the club competition but at present the putters and prize haven't arrived so if this is the case on Saturday it maybe moved back a week to the Summer Meeting. I will be setting a course on the putting green so for those of you out early do it when you finish anyone else starting after 9.00 am can do it before or after.
