European Tour
Paul Waring had another great finish in Morocco last week coming very close to winning again which hopefully wont be to far away. His 3rd place finish now assures his card for next year meaning he can now relax and press onto the next level and i'm sure a win wont be too far round the corner as the more often he gets in a position to win the more comfortable he will feel.
Pros comp
Thanks to those of you who entered the Pros Comp at the weekend with Alex Evans getting some well earned practice in beating Eddie Shields on a card playoff both with 38 points.
Peter Roberts was 3rd with 36 points with John Boyd beating Simon Taylor on a card playoff into 4th & 5th respectively both with 35 points. With Alex winning I put an extra 5th place prize in. There were 4 Twos. worth £9 each.
Ladies Grandmothers competition
The Ladies Grandmothers competition on Tuesday over 15 holes was won by Sharon Evans with 28 points probably the most recent Grandmother!
Shan Ashcroft was 2nd with 27 points and Jill Holmes 3rd with 26 points.
Amanda Dixon won the competition for the Non Grandmothers with 29 points.
Back here at Bromborough we could do with some warm weather to get the grass on the greens growing with the Major events starting soon.
There was a first over the weekend when someone managed to hit there ball into the Pro Shop when playing the 18th! I wont mention any names but he's a school teacher at my old school Caldy Grammar!

Summer League 9 Hole 4BBB Competition
Trial run for 2017
Entry deadline 30 April
Initial ideas, very similar to our current Winter League competition, with a few amendments.
9 hole better ball match play competition run in leagues initially, moving to knockout for the final stages.
9 holes easily allows members who work until late to still play and finish their match before sun down. As most Saturdays have competitions in the summer, entries are invited from 6 and 7 day members.
Matches to be played over the front 9 holes. This may well mean that some members may miss out on their shot allocations, but if this is accepted by member before signing up to the competition, it enables us to run with the 9 hole concept.
Matches can be played at any time. Simply up to a member from each team to organise a convenient time for all four members to play.
Usual handicap rules apply. 9/10ths of the difference to the lowest player.
We will try to run with at least 4 leagues starting May 6. The maximum per league will be 5 teams, so the number of leagues very much depends on the interest shown by members.
The winner and runner up from each league will qualify to go through to the knockout stages.
There will be prizes for the winner and runner up of the competition.
There will be completion dates for the league matches, and each stage of the knock out stages. We are looking at putting the final during an evening in the first week of September. There will be a referee for the final. Dates and details will be put on the league sheets posted on the notice board.
Matches tied after 9 holes in the knock out stages will continue to hole 10, 11 etc on a sudden death basis. Strokes will be received on the same basis as the course Stroke Table.
Entry fee for the competition is £5. You will need to complete an envelope with your names and "summer league", and then give the envelope to Geoff Berry (Geoff has a supply of envelopes).
