Hello Golfers,

Sorry the newsletter is a bit short this week but as you will read further down I am commuting up and down the A41 to Wolverhampton this week so anyone who knows the route can test me at the weekend on the various villages on the way down!

 

Competitions Update

The Spring Meeting last Saturday was won by Phil Jordan with 75-6-69, who beat Brian Newman with exactly the same score on a card playoff with Steve Brown coming 3rd with 73-3-70. Graham Pitt won Div 2 with 86=17=69 followed by John Colligan 87-16-71 beating George Scott 86-15-71 on a card playoff. There were 16 twos worth £9.80 per two.

Amanda Jayne Dixon, member of BGC for 38 years had her 1st hole in one on Easter Sunday 16 April at Bromborough golf club on the 10th hole. Celebrated with Dawn Clark and Jan Randles and 25 days later had another hole in one Thursday 11 May at Carden Park Cheshire course 15th hole and celebrated with Pam Thomson, Dawn Challinor and Tracy Reeves. Both shots were with her trusty pitching wedge.

Amanda was on good form again winning Div 1 of the Ladies Stableford on Tuesday with 36 points beating Dawn Skelland on a card playoff. The best score of the day was in Div 2 with Pam Darch scoring 37 points followed by The Lady Captain with 29 points. Div 3 was won by Elaine Frances with 30 points followed by Marion Jones with 28 points.


 

Caroline's good form continues

Caroline ended up finishing 4th in the French Seniors last week, 2nd in the Amateur section and continued her good form this week finishing Equal 1st in the qualifying stage of the English Seniors Championship at South Staffordshire G.C. I haven't had my P45 yet as I am on the Bag this week!


 

PGA Championship

Paul Waring is back in action again next week at a revamped Wentworth so it will be interesting to see all the new greens complexes. He then moves onto Sweden & Austria.
