Greetings golfers,

I hope you've all had a fantastic week on and off the golf course and welcome to another exciting edition of the weekly newsletter, bringing you up-to-date with all the latest news and gossip.

Competition round up

Once again scoring was good in the July medal with Keith Mounsey winning Div 1 with 76-10-66 followed by Richie Jones 73-5-68 and Kevin Brown 3rd with 70-2-68. The best score of the day was by the inform John Duffy 87-22-65 who lost his form two days later losing to Dale Heggarty in the Captains Prize. In 2nd place was Robbie Wilson 88-21-67 beating Frank Le Cozannett 88-21-67 on a card playoff.

Caroline won the Ladies Club Championship on Tuesday with steady scores of 76 & 77 Gross but dropped 3 of her 5 shots on the 18th!!! Shan Ashcroft won the Best Net over 36 holes with 74 & 78.

The Ladies medal over 18 holes was won by Gill O’Neill with 92-20-72 with Amanda Dixon 2nd with 86-11-75 bating Enid Roberts 100-25-75 on a card playoff.

Sunday morning was rather damp and I have attached our new stream feature down Wellings Way.

The other photo is the walkway to the Men's locker room which was also 6 inches deep in water. The course drained fantastically well and although still wet we managed to open the course soon after the rain had stopped.

What an Open that was

I hope you all enjoyed watching the Open last week especially those of you who made the journey up to Birkdale to watch. I though the way he was playing Jordan Speith was a certain winner after the 3rd round but he showed everyone is human and anything can happen in golf.

His last 5 holes though were unbelievable especially after the tee shot on the 13th which had he been off earlier with a smaller crowd nobody would probably of gone to look for it.
