Welcome to another exciting edition of the weekly newsletter bringing you all of the latest goings-on from around the club. Enjoy this week's read.

Punta Mita

Caroline and I certainly didn't miss much while we have been away with the weather once again being dreadful. We are very lucky that Caroline has relatives in some very nice places and after skiing we went down to play some golf on the Pacific coast of Mexico near Puerto Vallarta and were fortunate enough to play the 36 hole Private club at Punta Mita with the island green in the Pacific Ocean.

I should say 37 hole club as the course with the Island green has a 3A and 3B hole as the shortest it plays is 175 yards and as you will see in the video at High Tide you cant get to the green. The hole in the video is 3B as nearly all of the members play 3A. We went back after we had finished the 18th to finish the hole and ended up playing it again and as you can see the difference is amazing. ps The member of Staff who is on the tee was not paid to commentate on my shots!!!

Shopkeepers match

It was good to get out on the course on Sunday in the Shopkeepers match where I played the front 9 and went to the Liverpool Tottenham match and Aaron took over for the back nine. We partnered Ken Tait against Frank Howell & Terry Devonald and ended up halving the match. I did wonder if after the first hole if Ken and I had peaked as I made a 3 and he made a 4 net 3 and then by the turn we were 2 down after Frank made a 4 net 3 on the 8th and a 2 net 1 on the 9th!!!

Captains Prize

The Captains Prize list is now up in the locker room so please pop down and put your name down before it closes on March. The new Club Diaries will hopefully be here at the end of next week or beginning of the following week and will be in the shop and up on the bar.

Please could I ask you once again if you book a tee time and decide not to play will you please cancel it. This happened several times at the weekend and as the sheet was full Saturday & Sunday morning it stopped people who wanted to play being able to. Anyone who is looking after a game on Saturday we have some slots available so you can see online the gaps but you wont be able to book them so please give ma a call to book.

New arrivals

The all new TaylorMade M3 & M4 Woods Hybrids & irons will be arriving in store for the launch on Friday 16th February and I will also have some Demos arriving, I also have a selection of iron heads with various custom shafts you can try. Other arrivals include the new PING G400 Max Driver which is a 460 cc as opposed to the standard 440 cc head and the 2018 Range of Adidas shoes.

Paul Waring

Paul Waring had a disappointing 3 weeks unfortunately missing the cuts and has had this week off before flying out to Oman for next weeks event and then playing at Doha the following week before a six week break partly enforced by 2 WGC events in Mexico and Texas and The Masters at the beginning of April. The Tour then moves to Europe starting in Morocco on April 19th.
