Shop news

Ready for the season ahead

The shop as a lot of you have commented is looking pretty full with all the new stock now on display. We now have new clothing from Under Armour, FootjJy, adidas & Galvin Green as well as the new Daily Sport range for Ladies.

Shoes From adidas , FootJoy & Under Armour, Titleist, Motocaddy, Lynx, TaylorMade, PING & Powakaddy Bags some with a £20 trade in offer.

The TaylorMade & Titleist 4 for 3 Dozen is still on-going which you can order by clicking the attached link here or I am more than happy to do it for you.

I will confirm next week a TaylorMade Demo day on Wednesday 25th April. We also have Demo Irons with various shafts available in all Taylormade and PING models which you are more than welcome to come and try at your leisure and please our prices are very competitive with internet retailers so please give us the chance to match or beat the price you have seen online.

Competition news

Last weekend

The competition on Saturday was played in arctic condition and the winners came from the back of the field in the last group out.

The winners with a great score of 37 points on a card play off were Jon Saxon and Dan Sharp. Second on a card playoff with 37 points was John Robertson and Simon Newcombe continuing his good form. In third position on another card play off was Michael Edwards and Graham Pitt with a score of 36 points.

There was a lot of great scores on Saturday in the condition and well done to all that played. There was a vast sum of 4 two’s this week paying £20.70 per two, £10.35 per player. Well done to the four players there playing partners who benefitted will have to buy them a pint!!!.

Please remember competition fees are to be paid by 1.00 pm on the Wednesday before the competition.

Irish Breakfast

The Irish Breakfast was unsurprisingly won by Loz Creed who was able to drink the most before going out and still stand up sorry I meant play golf!!!! Loz had 35 points over 15 holes closely followed by Simon Newcombe with 34 points.

Charlie Abbott our new President seems to have taken up another new role. Hopefully he wont be taking over from Jurgen!!!

Tour news

Arnold Palmer Invitational

It was great to see Rory McIlroy back to top form on Sunday birdieing 5 of the last 6 holes to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational. It was a great leaderboard and good to see Tiger back up there for the 2nd week in a row. Lets hope the European contingent carry there good form into this weeks World Matchplay Championship.

Club news

This weekend

For those of you playing this weekend the 9th hole is now back in play as a par 4 and drop zones will be put in place next week. Please take care walking round the pond as it is still very wet in places. A shale path has been put down as a temporary measure please do not walk on the mud next to it as you may sink!!!!

Charity event

On April 15th 2018 My assistant Aaron is hosting a charity event for one of his university modules. The charity is MyAware and is for people effected by myasthenia. It is a team of 4 and the format is best 2 from 4 stableford scores, with bacon rolls and coffee before hand, 18 holes of golf and a hot dinner after. As well as a raffle and prizes for the winners on the day. The cost of the day is £100 per team and that includes all food prizes and a small donation to charity. An honest review

If you’ve been in the pro shop recently you’ll have seen lots of new products displayed proudly around the store, many of which are new for 2018. One that’s generated quite a bit of interest is Under Armour's Spieth 2 golf shoe, but did it live up to its billing?
