Winners of the Yellow Ball last weekend were regular winners John Edwards, Mike Edwards Darren Helsby & Graham Pitt with 85 pts followed by Steve Jones,Steve Dixon , John Clegg & Rod Backhouse with 83 pts with Phil Brown, Jim Mckenzie, John Duffy & Geoff Smith in 3rd place with 81 pts.

The Texas Scramble sheet for the 22nd November is filling up nicely but there are a couple of gaps for single players and one 2 ball if any of you want to play.These are now shotgun starts at 8.30 & 12.15.

We were asked several times on Saturday morning if it was 3/4 handicap which every winter competition is apart from the Texas Scramble.

On Tuesday in wet horrible drizzle the Ladies Stableford Waltz was won by Amanda Dixon , Sharon Evans & Margaret Nelson with 58 pts followed by Margaret Page, Val Smith & Pam Mitchell with 56 pts.

Rod will being doing a piece for you next week but as you will see when you next play we have started work on the 4th & 17th tees and flattening out the right hand side of the first green. Whilst this work is being carried out the 17th tee will now be at the start of the fairway.

Whilst staff are working on the 17th tee the 16th tee will be moved forward so we can still play to the green. The 4th will be played from a mat on the normal winter tee and the Ladies tee will be in front of the existing tee.

The staff are also working on the right hand side of the first green so please take nearest point of relief if you are in any of these areas where work is being carried out.

This year as a trial rather than having ropes across most fairways to keep trolleys away from the greens we are going to have the stakes and then a white line between them so please keep your trolleys outside the lines. Certain holes like the 4th ,5th 6th & 8th will still have ropes out.

With Christmas fast approaching I have more stock coming in but as I said last week with there being several break-ins at other local shops I am reluctant to put everything out especially clubs and Galvin Green waterproofs so if you don't see what you want please ask and if we haven't got it we can normally get it within 72 hours. If you happen to see anything elsewhere please give us the chance to get it and match or beat the price.
