Competition news

On the Course...

There was some great scoring last Saturday in the 4 Ball Better Ball Stableford. Steve O’Donoghue and John McCann won with a great score of 35 points over 11 holes closely followed by Colin Jones and Des Kenny with 34 points who beat Rod Backhouse and Steve Jones on a card playoff.

There were 8 Two's including the 1st, where Steve Stewart and Mark Richards got one and one the 18th by Clive Plummer. These were worth £13.90 each and £6.95 after being shared with playing partners.

We still have spots available for the Best 2 from 4 Stableford on Saturday, 14 December and the sheet is also up in the shop for the Festive Shotgun on Saturday, 28 December.

The Ladies Christmas competition on Tuesday was very close and won a a card playoff by Sheila Nugent, Norma Napier, Elaine Francis & Karen Munro with 83 points from Sue Edwards, Sue Fowler, Linda Simpson & Val Watters.

How times have changed

We've got a little task for you. Next time you're down the club on a busy day, have a look around and count how many golfers are using an electric trolley compared to those that aren't. We think the number might surprise you...
