A word from the Pro Good afternoon/morning to all members, depending on when you’re reading.
I’m not a fan of complaining about the weather, but it really isn’t helping us out at the moment. We have been closed since Sunday so needless to say, it’s been pretty quiet about the club.
Just a note on that, the shop and club are all still open so it would be great to have some company!

Men's Two from Four
The only results to report this week are from the men’s best two from four which was played on Saturday 22nd February. I was not jealous of those that were going out to play to be honest, so fair play to those that did!
The winners with a total of 70 points were Dan Higgins, Danny McNicholas, Steven Jones and Peter Vaughan, who sneaked it on a card playoff from Clive Plummer, Gary Cottrell. Harry Dawson and Alan Roberts. Third place with 68 points was Murray Watters, Jim Harvey, Steve Harvey and Paul Davies.

New stock in store
We have taken delivery of a fair bit of stock in the pro shop this week including the new range of Galvin Green and the latest models of FootJoy shoes.
There is new stock coming in all the time and remember we will always do our best to price match.

New promotion available to you We launched this last week and the initial take up has been phenomenal! It's not just about making sure you replace the grips on your clubs every year. Instead, we want you to have the correct sized grip and the right type of grip (tacky, chorded and so on) too. This will only be running for a few more weeks so come and see us in the pro shop if interested. |

Chipping contest
My video this week was filmed in Tenerife which makes me miss the sunshine but anyway it was a chipping competition against Paul Waring.
Hopefully, it was decent preparation for the next two weeks out in Oman and Qatar.
Click the link below to view the video. Apologies for the digger in the background!

There really isn’t too much else to report, and all I can say is fingers crossed for an improvement in the weather so we can get back out on the golf course! |
Last week we revealed a remarkable statistic regarding the number of golfers playing grips that are over a year old, but what impact does that actually have on your game? Well, we decided to do some digging... |
| Tension whilst gripping | Grips are made from rubber and are prone to wear and tear, just like the tyres on your car. When they become worn, your grips will lose tackiness and your hands will start to slip during the swing, resulting in poorer shots.
The thing is, you’ll likely overcompensate by holding on to your clubs too tight, creating more tension and stiffness during the swing.
|
| Limited time offer in-store now | We know it sounds all doom and gloom, but it does make a huge difference to your game. That's why we're running this promotion at Bromborough Golf Club, so you can experience the benefits of a new grip first hand.
There’s no catch, just pop by the shop before your next round to take advantage. |
