Due to the wet weather last week although it was supposed to be hidden pin. It should have been highest pin as on all the greens apart from the 1st I tried to find the highest points of the green in case the greens flooded. The first has been very wet down the middle as both sides are slightly higher so we decided after asking a few members would they rather the pin be 2 feet on the green or play the Temporary everyone said 2 feet on the green.
The convincing winners with a great score of 75 points were Dave Sheppard, Steve Stewart, Rob Passingham & Jim Harvey followed by Bob Taylor, Dave Bickerdyke,Tony Humphreys & Keith Mounsey with 69 poits who beat John Robertson , Graham Swaby, Ian McCloy & Phil Holcroft on a card playoff. There were 6 twos of which one group got 3 of them which was Steve O'Donoghue, John & Kieran McCann & Ian Keelan.
The Ladies 9 hole hidden pin competition on Tuesday was won by Caroline Berry with 19 points followed by Jill Holmes with 17 points.
There are still spaces available for the festive shotgun on the 27th which is a shotgun start over 18 holes.
Steve Stewart was due to hold his day on Tuesday 30th but this has now been called off so the Ladies have a few bookings in the morning but after 10.00am anyone can play. If there are times not booked after Tuesday next week I will be freeing up times between 8.30 & 10.00 for any of you who want to play. Next Tuesday the 23rd is the same. If you would like to play I have times available between 8.30 & 9.00 and after 10.00am the course is free for anyone to play.
I have just had some Ladies Green Lamb winter clothing in on a deal with some great looking tops for playing in starting at just £29.99 reduced from £49.99 so pop in and take a look whilst stocks last. If you need to get your other half a last minute Christmas present it would get you some brownie points as we always seem to need them!!!
For those of you like me who are last minute shoppers we have plenty of other great gift ideas so pop in and take a look and if you can't find what you want or aren't sure we do vouchers for any value.
I have also just purchased a Launch Monitor to fit I've just got to learn how to use it now! This will help fitting new clubs for everyone and also we will be using proper golf balls rather than range balls which can give a false reading as they are not the same compression as a normal ball.
At least half of us went to work this morning in a slightly better mood than normal after Liverpool actually won a game after playing some decent football after the recent dour performances against Stoke, Sunderland & Basel. But half that smile was wiped away after drawing Chelsea in the Semi Final!
Finally this is my final newsletter of 2014 so may I Alex & Tom wish you all a Happy Christmas & Best Wishes for 2015.
