It's great to be back!

It's been great to see everyone back playing and the weather has been excellent until today when there was a severe temperature drop to bring us all back to normality.

As you all have seen, Darren and the team have done a great job on the course this winter. However, I have been asked to mention the number of pitch marks on the greens. Please remember to repair them.

Please can I also ask you to pop in the shop to check-in for your tee time and if you are going over to the practice ground. This for Track & trace purposes it also lets us know how many people are over there.

The shop is now fully stocked and I am just waiting for my last few deliveries from Skechers and Under Armour which are currently stuck in transit due to Brexit.

Any of you thinking of new clubs and would like to be fitted, we have fitting components for TaylorMade, PING and Callaway. The PING rep is also bringing me all of his demo clubs for 10 days from next Friday so please let us know if you would like to try these.

There are also a couple of spots left for the TaylorMade demo day on Wednesday 5th May, so please get in touch if you would like to book a slot.

Major season kicks off this week

European golf fans, cover your eyes! The WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play was not pretty viewing for Padraig Harrington & Co. as the States dominated, with Billy Horschel defeating Scottie Scheffler in a scrappy final. Who can blame them considering it was their 7th match in just four days!

The Major Championship season kicks off this week as the world’s best lady golfers head to California for the ANA Inspiration. Last year’s tournament saw Mirim Lee shock everyone with a comeback win including two chip-ins, an 18th-hole eagle and a three-way playoff! A host of the game’s stars, including the Korda sisters (Nelly & Jess), Lexi Thompson and Danielle Kang have all been in fine form this year. It’s destined to be a cracker!

Hopefully, it won't be long before you're teeing up in major club competitions once again, so why not book yourself in for a lesson or two to sharpen up your game?

Staying grounded this season

You quite literally want to stay grounded as you play golf this year. I’m not expecting you to float away like a balloon, but without the right footwear there is a chance that your ball will.

The obvious place to start here is with an outsole that grips the turf both as you walk and as you swing, letting your mind focus on playing golf.
