There was some great scoring last weekend in the Early Spring Stableford. There was no way I thought Rob Cull's score of 40 points (which was 2 under par gross) would be beaten but Andy Wilkinson came in late on with a great score of 41 points. Steve Dixon shot another good score of 37 points beating Rob Lowles on a card playoff. The clear winner in Div 2 with 37 points was Brian Rippon followed by Alisdair Mackay with 34 points and Chris Lingard finishing 3rd with 33 points beating Peter Johnson, Dave Kirkwood & Steve Griffiths on a card playoff. There were 19 twos worth £9.45 each.
The Ladies Stableford on Tuesday was won by Gill Martindale with 36 points followed by Jan Mcgowan, Jan Evans , Pat Holt & Gill Arthur all with 35 points.
I hope you all enjoyed The Masters and what a nice young man Jordan Speith is. Much as I wanted Justin Rose to win, I thought Jordan thoroughly deserved it. I am also sure Rory Mcilroy will have a look at his scheduling and perhaps next year play a tournament the week before as it got him 27 holes to get going. It was also good to see Tiger do well which is good for golf in general and hopefully we will see him back again soon probably for the Players Championship next month.
I have some PING G30 Drivers, Fairway Woods and Hybrids in the shop for a week if any of you would like to demo them. Please pop in and have a look.
I also have just arranged a Callaway Demo day for Wednesday 27th May between 1.30 & 5.30 for any of you who would like to try there new 2015 range and be fitted.
This is the last few days of the Titleist 4 for 3 promotion and I have one just started on the Sci Flex FootJoy glove where if you buy 3 you get 1 free. The Lithium Battery trade in is also going well and if your battery is starting to struggle round 18 holes its well worth thinking about.
Also running is the shoe trade in on selected adidas & FootJoy styles which are a great buy at present.
Finally, a quick note from the Handicap Committee regarding the local rule concerning the Greens complex- apparently there were still a few people moving balls last weekend in the competition who hadn't read the notice below in the shop or on the first tee.
LOCAL RULE CANCELLED
GREENS COMPLEX AREAS
FROM TODAY
The 'Greens Complex' area up to 30/35 yards from the green centre is now IN PLAY.
A ball coming to rest in this area must be played as it lies when not covered by local 'preferred lies' arrangements.

Notes
1. The scarified areas situated between the 9th and 18th fairways, and to the right of the 15th fairway are still subject to a local rule and relief may be taken, without penalty, in accordance with that rule.
