Greetings from Geoff Berry
Bromborough Golf Club - PGA Golf Professional

Dav Lynch Smith
certainly made up for the disappointment of losing the Captains Prize final last weekend by winning the St Andrews meeting with a great score of 85-19-66 which included a 9 on the 7th. The winner of Div 1 and the best gross score was Graham Swaby 74-6-68 who beat Simon Taylor on a card playoff 76-8-68 and in 3rd place was Gary Cottrell who beat John Mooney on a card playoff. Second behind Dav in Div 2 was Peter Johnson 89-19-70 with Brian Rippon in 3rd 91-20-71 who beat Brian Daly, Don Hughes & Mike Lewis on a card playoff.

The sheet is pretty full this weekend's competition with a few spaces between 10.00 & 11.30 for any of you who may fancy a game.

Remember the Winter League is now open for entry at £15 per couple- please have the correct money if possible as I keep running out of £5 notes.

Ladies Results

I was in the doghouse last week when I forgot to mention the Ladies Foursomes final last week when Jan Mcgowan & Deidre Watson beat Carol Gunn & Jill Holmes so here's a photo of them before they went out to get me some brownie points!!

Last week the Ladies Centenary final was played where Caroline Berry beat Barbara Henshaw 2&1 in a very close game.

The Ladies Autumn meeting last Tuesday was won by Amanda Dixon 86-11-75 on a card playoff from Caroline Berry 77-2-75.

Brromborough also won the recent Cheshire Senior Ladies event here at Bromborough with Jan Mcgowan, Margaret Nelson, Dawn Skelland & Gill O'Neill winning with 72 points on a very wet day.

The winner of the Ladies Pink Day on Tuesday was Val Smith with 35 points followed by Amanda Dixon again with 34 points and in 3rd place was Barbara Henshaw with 31 points

I am not mentioning football this week but hopefully we will have a good weekend watching the Solheim Cup & the Fed Ex playoffs.

Golf Care insurance

Wherever you tee it up, we want to make sure you have adequate cover. With golfers being sued for shots that cause injury, it's not worth taking the risk - especially when you take out a policy through us, which will cost you less than that of an average green fee. Click here to find out more.
