The winners of the Yellow Ball competition last Saturday were Jim McKenzie , John Duffy, Nigel Skilling & Mick Byrne with a great score of 85 points and looking at the scorecard Jim did a lot of the damage. In 2nd place with 81 points were Tony Galloway, John McCann, Graham Swaby & Dave Uden and in 3rd Keith Francis Colin Lewis, Dave Steepe & Mike Lewis with 80 points. Well done to all of you who made it round especially the early starters as the weather was awful. I and a couple of the greenstaff were once again on squeegeeing duty first thing to get rid of lying water on some of the greens.
The Ladies Sableford Waltz competition on Tuesday was won by Gill O'Neill, Deidre Watson & Sheila Nugent with 68 points who beat Jill Holmes El Robb & Sue James on a card playoff.
We are now moving to Shotgun Starts for the Saturday competitions and to save you getting up early on a Sunday morning to book these, they will be done on Saturdays at 12.30 for the morning start and 3.30 pm for the afternoon starts. So in other words after you have finished your round providing you don't decide to change from a morning in one to an afternoon in another. I hope that makes sense!!! I have quite a few gaps for the 8.30 start on Saturday 21st for single players if any of you would like to play.
It was nice to see Danny Willett (one of Paul's best mates on tour) have a great finish last week in China to set up an exciting finish in the Race To Dubai with this week's BMW Masters (also in Shanghai China) before moving onto Dubai for the last event of the season for the top 60 in the order of merit.
New in the shop this week we have some FootJoy Contours reduced from £99 to £69.99 whilst stocks last. We are also taking orders for the free Titleist personalisation offer starting with the DT Solo at £15.99 up to the Pro V1 at £39.99- Click here to order now. Finally please avoid taking your trolleys inside the staked areas round the greens and the course is now being played in the following order: 1st ,16th,2nd to 15th,17th & 18th, this is being done to avoid trolley damage around the 1st & 16th greens and 2nd tee.
